What The Study Did: A variety of data were used to estimate annual health care spending in the U.S. from 1996 through 2016 by payer (public insurance, private insurance and out-of-pocket payments) and by health conditions, including low back pain and musculoskeletal disorders, diabetes and ischemic heart disease.
