International Serious Adverse Events Consortium announces initial study results in its global research collaboration to identify genetic markers related to drug induced liver injury

Researchers have discovered genetic markers that predict individuals at risk for serious drug-induced liver injury. The study found that HLA-B*5701 is a major determinant of liver injury induced by flucloxacillin, and variations on chromosome 3 also influence the risk.
