Emergency clopidogrel could save thousands of lives–46,000-patient heart attack trial results
A new study found that emergency use of clopidogrel could reduce the risk of death and repeat heart attacks by up to 10%, without increasing serious bleeds. However, early treatment with metoprolol may increase the risk of cardiac shock, and its benefits tend to cancel out those of clopidogrel.
