Blood test can effectively rule out breast cancer, regardless of breast density

A new study published in PLOS ONE demonstrates that Videssa Breast, a liquid biopsy test, can reliably rule out breast cancer in women with dense and non-dense breast tissue. With an over 99% negative predictive value, clinicians can confidently use the test to detect cancer in women with dense breasts.

Blood test offers improved breast cancer detection tool to reduce use of breast biopsy

A new blood test called Videssa Breast has shown high sensitivity and specificity for detecting breast cancer in women under age 50. The test can help reduce the use of breast biopsies by up to 67 percent, ruling out breast cancer with a positive predictive value of 25.2 percent.
