Australian researchers develop world’s first AI roadside technology to prevent animal–vehicle collisions
Australian researchers have developed a low-cost, AI-powered roadside system called LAARMA that detects animals near roads and triggers warning signs. The system uses sensors, RGB cameras, thermal imaging, and LiDAR to detect animals with 97% accuracy and recorded over 287 sightings.
