Estrogen may fuel lung cancer growth, report University of Pittsburgh scientists
Researchers found greater numbers of estrogen receptors on lung cancer cells, suggesting a role for this hormone in enhancing tumor growth. Estrogen was shown to increase cell division and tumor growth in both cultured lung cancer cells and animal models.
