Key factor found in tumorigenicity of glioma stem cells
Scientists from Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, found that Oct4A is the key factor in maintaining tumorigenic activity of glioblastoma stem cells. Palmitoylation mediated by ZDHHC17 preserves Oct4A protein stability and facilitates Sox4-Oct4A complex formation.
