Betancourt studying regulatory grade frameworks for assessing record linkage uncertainty in real-world evidence

Brenda Betancourt, Term Associate Professor, Statistics, College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), received funding for the project: “Regulatory Grade Frameworks for Assessing Record Linkage Uncertainty in Real-World Evidence.”

She will evaluate how record linkage uncertainty affects the reliability, interpretability, and evidentiary confidence of analyses based on linked real-world data (RWD) used to support FDA regulatory decision-making.

Betancourt received $286,130 from the Food and Drug Administration for this research. Funding began in Sept. 2026 and will end in Sept. 2028.
