Researchers report the development of a wound dressing consisting of a peptide, derived from the extracellular protein laminin, that was incorporated into a material converted from liquid to gel by body temperature when applied to living tissue; the dressing promoted the adhesion, migration, and proliferation of dermal cells and significantly accelerated wound closure and tissue regeneration in diabetic mice, compared with control treatments, according to the authors.
