National Science Board (NSB) Chairman Eamon Kelly will be available on Monday, April 26, to discuss any current and topical issues related to the NSB.

Kelly is an internationally known economist and President Emeritus, Tulane University. He assumed the NSB chair last May. Kelly is currently a professor at Tulane's Payson Center for International Development and Technology Transfer. He also held leadership positions at Ford Foundation in New York for 10 years, managing its national and international investment program and its domestic grant program.

The NSB is the governing body of the National Science Foundation, and is made up of 24 top representatives from industry and academia. Members are appointed by the President, confirmed by the Senate and serve six-year terms. Within the past few years, the NSB has published papers or reports on a variety of topics including education (both graduate and K-12), industry research trends, and government funding of research. (Note: The next meeting of the NSB will take place May 5-7 at the National Science Foundation.)
