Researchers quantified the concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from atmospheric emission samples collected using an unmanned aerial vehicle flown over plateau and slope forests in central Amazonia between February 20, 2018 and March 15, 2018, and found that isoprene concentrations in the near-canopy atmosphere over plateau forests were 60% greater than concentrations over slope forests, suggesting that VOC estimates may be biased based on how samples are collected and measured.
