LOS ANGELES — Keck Hospital of USC has been named a top performer in the 2026 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Ranking by Vizient®, recognized for demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality care based on the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study.
This marks the third consecutive year that Keck Hospital has received Vizient’s highest recognition for quality and accountability. The hospital ranked No. 11 among 122 comprehensive academic medical centers nationwide.

What the award measures
Vizient, a leading healthcare performance improvement company, annually evaluates participating academic medical centers and health systems through its Quality and Accountability Study. The assessment measures performance across six domains: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness and variation in care.

The study factors in measures from the Vizient Clinical Data Base and includes performance data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey and the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network.
The recognition period spans from July 1, 2025 through July 30, 2026.
