What The Study Did: For this study, population-based birth registry, laboratory and public health case data were used to describe SARS-CoV-2 testing outcomes among infants born during the COVID-19 pandemic and their mothers. The findings of this study suggest that SARS-CoV-2 infection in early infancy is rare; however, ongoing surveillance is required to ensure the continued protection of newborns from SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.
