Epidemiological Patterns and Disparities in Hypertensive Disorder Subtypes in Pregnancy

• Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, such as gestational hypertension and preeclampsia, are a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy subtypes may differentially impact disparate patient populations, and sociodemographic disparities have not been well characterized in prior literature. The purpose of this study is to evaluate sociodemographic disparities across all hypertensive disorders of pregnancy subtypes during delivery hospitalizations in a large nationwide cohort.

• Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common type of hormone imbalance in women that can cause irregular periods, weight gain, infertility, acne, and excess hair growth. This session reframes PCOS as a lifelong condition requiring longitudinal and multidisciplinary care. The expert shares practical and evidence-based strategies for metabolic management, inclusive patient counseling, and integrating chronic disease principles into everyday gynecologic practice. Dr. Faris will leverage her experience in her PCOS-focused gynecologic practice and her nutrition background.
