AmScope B120C-5M Compound Microscope supports teaching labs and QA checks with LED illumination, mechanical stage, and included 5MP camera.

Nirmal Ghimire, Assistant Professor, Physics and Astronomy, is currently working to synthesize and characterize topological materials related to transition metal dichalcogenides intercalcated with magnetic ions.

Ghimire received $48,910 from the U.S. Department of Energy for this work. Funding began in June 2020 and will end in late August 2020.
