The New Investigator Award is designed to encourage new clinical investigators to gain experience with performing and presenting ultrasound research early in their academic careers. The award with a prize of $1000, is presented each year to a new investigator (resident, fellow, faculty member, or sonographer in practice fewer than 5 years) who presents the best scientific abstract.

Dr. Niermann, along with the 5 other nominees, presented his abstract on Tuesday, June 21, and the winner was announced later that evening at the AIUM Board of Governors banquet.

Congratulations to Dr. Niermann and the other nominees on a job well-done!

The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine is a multidisciplinary association dedicated to advancing the safe and effective use of ultrasound in medicine through professional and public education, research, development of guidelines, and accreditation.
