Organic Synthesis with Dioxiranes

10.22.26 | Bentham Science Publishers

Bentham Books announces the release of Organic Synthesis with Dioxiranes , a specialized reference exploring the chemistry of dioxiranes and their applications in modern organic synthesis. Moving from fundamental reaction mechanisms to advanced approaches for selective oxidation and functionalization, the book offers chemists a practical resource for understanding and applying dioxirane chemistry in precision synthesis.

Organic Synthesis with Dioxiranes provides a structured overview of dioxirane chemistry, examining the fundamental principles that govern their reactivity and their use in a range of organic transformations. The book progresses from basic reaction mechanisms to oxidation across different functional groups, substrate-specific epoxidation strategies, site-selective C–H functionalization, and asymmetric synthesis.

Unlike resources organized primarily by chronology, this volume is arranged by functional group and reaction type, making it easier for readers to locate relevant reactions and strategies for specific substrates or selectivity requirements. Its consistent chapter structure supports both a progressive understanding of the subject and quick reference during research and experimental planning.

A central feature of the book is its systematic treatment of selectivity in organic synthesis. It examines stereo specificity, chemo selectivity, stereo selectivity, diastereoselectivity, and enantioselectivity, helping readers understand how dioxirane-mediated reactions can be applied to achieve greater control over chemical transformations. The book also presents a bond-type-first approach to C–H oxygenation, offering a practical framework for examining functionalization strategies.

By combining mechanistic foundations with substrate-oriented guidance and advanced synthetic applications, Organic Synthesis with Dioxiranes connects theoretical understanding with the practical needs of synthetic chemists. It serves as both an introduction to the field and a reference for researchers investigating selective oxidation and precision organic synthesis.

Readership: Synthetic chemists, researchers, academics, and graduate students working in or interested in organic chemistry, mechanistic chemistry, oxidation reactions, and selective organic synthesis.
