Cardiovascular Genetics
Cardiovascular genetics has been discussed in the lay press recently, particularly in light of the deaths of athletes like Florence Joyner and Reggie Lewis. Genes predisposing us to diseases are being discovered almost daily and heart disease is no exception. The panelists in this workshop will present an overview from early childhood cardiac disorders and how they can affect the quality of life in adulthood, to the importance recognizing asymptomatic cardiac conditions and understanding the role environmental factors play in cardiovascular disease.
