The American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Korean Society of Cardiology (KSC) will host the ACC Asia 2026 Together with KSC Spring Conference on April 17-18 in Gyeongju, South Korea. The conference will bring together leading experts and cardiovascular clinicians from Asia and across the globe to examine emerging trends and evidence-based approaches to the prevention and management of heart disease.
According to a recent JACC: Asia state-of-the-art review , cardiometabolic disease accounts for more than one-third of deaths and the majority of premature mortality in adults over 40 years in the Asia-Pacific region. The authors state the region’s “cardiometabolic burden is shaped by the presence of biological susceptibility, rapid urbanization, accelerating digitalization and uneven health-system capacity.”
“This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to the highest standards of clinical excellence beyond national boundaries. Guided by a common vision, we strive to advance global innovation and revitalize cardiovascular research, ensuring that the latest scientific advances are effectively translated into clinical practice,” said Seok-Min Kang, MD, PhD, FACC, ACC Asia conference co-chair and president of KSC. “In today’s increasingly interconnected world, the global cardiovascular community must collaborate more closely than ever. By overcoming geographical and cultural boundaries, we can more effectively tackle the rising burden of cardiovascular disease through shared knowledge and expertise.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest cardiovascular diagnostic methods and treatment strategies and engage in discussions with expert faculty on hot topics ranging from heart failure to prevention. Key sessions will address issues facing cardiovascular clinicians today. Among the sessions:
Attendees will gain regionally tailored best practices in translating the latest science into everyday clinical care, while also having the opportunity to see emerging research from across Asia through abstract and case study presentations. Additionally, three ACC Asia Chapter teams consisting of three Fellows-in-Training (FITs) will compete in FIT Jeopardy, a fast-paced, gameshow-style competition covering topics such as cardiovascular imaging, prevention and interventional cardiology. The winning team will advance to compete at the ACC Annual Scientific Session (ACC.27) in Houston in April 2027.
“I believe the importance of the ACC international conferences lie in their ability to unite clinicians, researchers and trainees from diverse health systems the world over in the mission to improve cardiovascular care and improve heart health globally. The meetings foster a global exchange of evidence-based science, best practice, innovation and cutting-edge research,” said Kwan Seung Lee, MD, FACC, ACC Asia conference co-chair. “I hope attendees leave inspired with new clinical skills, collaborative research ideas and actionable strategies to implement guidelines-driven care. Together, we can strengthen global cardiovascular health and ensure that advances in diagnosis, treatment and prevention reach every patient who needs them.”
The ACC will also be recognizing individuals from throughout the region who have earned the distinguished Fellow of the ACC (FACC) designation. This prestigious credential recognizes a commitment to improving patient care and outcomes.
