Cing-Dao Kan, Director, Center for Collision Safety and Analysis, College of Science, received funding for the project: “Diplomatic Security Anti-Ram Perimeter Barrier Development and Testing Effort.”
He is providing research assistance to the Department of State to develop anti-ram barriers to protect against vehicular bomb threats by arresting the attacking vehicle at the greatest distance possible from critical infrastructure elements.
Kan received $1,430,000 from the Federal Highway Administration for this project. Funding began in July 2026 and will end in July 2028.
