MADISON, WI, APRIL 4, 2008 – The American Society of Agronomy (ASA), Crop Science Society of America (CSSA), and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) recognize the following undergraduate students as “Outstanding Seniors” as part of the 2008 National Student Recognition Program announced in the April 2008 CSA News, the Societies’ news magazine.

The 2008 National Student Recognition Program recognizes 36 outstanding undergraduate seniors enrolled in agronomy, crop, soil, or environmental science departments that have active student chapters affiliated with the Students of Agronomy, Soils, and Environmental Sciences (SASES), an undergraduate student program of ASA, CSSA, and SSSA. Each year, top-notch seniors are selected for the award based on their scholarship, leadership, and participation. The students receive a plaque as part of their recognition and also become eligible to apply for the Frank D. Keim Fellowship if they are pursuing a graduate degree.

The American Society of Agronomy www.agronomy.org, the Crop Science Society of America www.crops.org and the Soil Science Society of America www.soils.org are scientific societies helping their 11,000+ members advance the discipline and practice of agronomic, crop, and soil sciences by supporting professional growth and science policy initiatives, and by providing quality, research-based publications and a variety of member services. Because of their common interests, ASA, CSSA, and SSSA share a close working relationship and office staff in Madison, WI. Each organization is autonomous with its own bylaws and governing boards of directors.
