A study in mice finds that ursolic acid, a known anti-inflammatory compound, can promote the repair of myelin in the central nervous system, even in the chronic phases of autoimmune myelin disorders such as multiple sclerosis; the results suggest that ursolic acid may be beneficially combined with current immunomodulatory therapy to treat multiple sclerosis, according to the authors.

Article #20-00208: "A dual effect of ursolic acid to the treatment of multiple sclerosis through both immunomodulation and direct remyelination," by Yuan Zhang et al.
