Meta Quest 3 512GB

Meta Quest 3 512GB enables immersive mission planning, terrain rehearsal, and interactive STEM demos with high-resolution mixed-reality experiences.

Four Mason researchers received funding from the National Science Foundation for the project: "Collaborative Research: CCRI: New: CoMIC: A Collaborative Mobile Immersive Computing Research Infrastructure for Multi-user XR."

Bo Han, Associate Professor, Computer Science; Parth Pathak, Assistant Professor, Computer Science; Lap-Fai (Craig) Yu, Associate Professor, Computer Science; and Songqing Chen, Professor, Computer Science, are designing and developing the infrastructure for Collaborative Mobile Immersive Computing (CoMIC).

The intellectual merit of the proposed CoMIC infrastructure can be summarized in two parts: (1) constructing critical research infrastructure with both software and hardware components, and (2) serving the community by empowering innovative solutions of multi-user XR with CoMIC.

The researchers received $1,500,000 from NSF for this research. Funding began in May 2023 and will end in late April 2026.
