Tian & Wang to receive funding for project focused on securing multi-access edge computing using artificial intelligence

SAMSUNG T9 Portable SSD 2TB transfers large imagery and model outputs quickly between field laptops, lab workstations, and secure archives.

Zhi Tian, Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Yue Wang, Research Assistant Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, are set to receive $125,000 from the Virginia Innovation Partnership Authority for the project: "Securing Multi-access Edge Computing using Artificial Intelligence."

The researchers will conduct their research in three thrusts:

• Thrust 1: Enhancing the network security of mobile edge computing;

• Thrust 2: Enhancing the efficiency of collaborative machine learning for secure edge computing; and

• Thrust 3: Feasibility analysis and testbed validation.

Funding for this project will begin in December 2021 and will end in December 2022.
