Researchers report that blood samples from 26 out of 32 Sierra Leonean survivors of the 2013-2016 Ebola outbreak, ages 15-53 years, exhibited cytotoxic T cell responses to Ebola-specific proteins, with 25 of the 26 samples responsive to viral nucleoprotein (NP) and 10 of the 26 samples responsive to viral glycoprotein (GP), suggesting that a vaccine including both NP and GP might help elicit cell-mediated immunity against Ebola.
