Brodsky Studying Translation Potential Of Platform To Manage Microgrids In Real Time
Alexander Brodsky, Professor, Computer Science, College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), is exploring translation potential of a microgrid management platform.
By 2030, energy demand is expected to rise substantially, partly due to the growing computational requirements of AI. This surge in demand underscores the need for efficient energy management systems to optimize usage, reduce waste, and enhance grid capacity.
Brodsky and his collaborators want to assess their innovation, Microgrid Optima. They hold that it addresses the forthcoming rise in energy demand by optimizing energy storage operations to minimize peak power demand and reduce energy costs.
Brodsky received $50,000 from the National Science Foundation for this project. Funding began in Aug. 2026 and will end in late July 2027.
