Adrienne Bryant Godwin, Director of Programming, received $9,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities for: "Cartography - Great Performances at Mason 2020-2021 season."

"CARTOGRAPHY" is a work that explores the global issue of migration through the eyes of four children. The work is designed for audiences ages 10 and older, and allows viewers to reflect on the topics presented using artistic expressions as a guiding tool.

Kaneza Schaal, one of the co-creators of the work, and the daughter of an immigrant from Rwanda, will participate in the 2020 - 2021 Mason Artist-in-Residence Program, building on multimedia techniques currently used in the performance.

Funding for this project began in August 2020 and will end in May 2021.
