Using experiments with diverse fish species on a coral reef along with computer vision technology to uncover how wild animals make decisions when fleeing from predators, researchers report how neural circuits previously shown in lab animals to translate visual information into escape maneuvers can drive escape decision-making in diverse animal species in the wild, according to a study.
