Pamela Hudson Baker, Associate Professor, Special Education ; Director, Division of Special Education and disAbility Research; Helen A. Kellar Institute for Human disAbilities; Professor-in-Charge, Special Education Leadership; Special Education: General Curriculum, received $25,000 from the University of Florida on a subaward from the U.S. Department of Education for: "Collaboration for Effective Educator Development Accountability and Reform (CEEDAR Center)."
This CEEDAR partnership is designed to support selected states in educational reform.
The project brings together the state education agency with higher education partners and local education agency partners across special education, general education, and education leadership.
The project's focus in Virginia will assist school divisions, universities, and state-operated programs with advancing high-leverage practices and addressing the shortage of qualified educators.
Funding may be used to pay for allocable and reasonable costs necessary to initiate and support the work of the CEEDAR Technical Assistance (TA) partnership during the remaining period of performance from Sept. 1, 2022 to Dec. 31, 2023 and will include planning and progress monitoring retreats centered around specific educational materials.
Partners on this project will include representative teams from the Virginia Department of Education and selected universities and school districts.
Funding for this project began in Sept. 2022 and will end in late Dec. 2023.
