BETHESDA, MD – March 6, 2026 | The ACMG Foundation for Genetic and Genomic Medicine will bring one of its most beloved traditions to Baltimore during the 2026 ACMG ( American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics ) Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting. The ACMG Foundation is a leading national genetics foundation that supports education, research, and initiatives that translate advances in genomics into better health for individuals and families.

On Friday, March 13 from 10:00–11:00 AM ET at the Baltimore Convention Center , the ACMG Foundation will join genetics professionals from around the world to present customized adaptive bicycles to children receiving care at Kennedy Krieger Institute . These specialized bikes are designed to improve mobility, independence, and participation in everyday activities, offering life-changing opportunities for children with genetic or medically complex conditions.

The annual ACMG Foundation Day of Caring is made possible through a generous grant from Revvity .

Kennedy Krieger Institute, based in the Baltimore-Washington region, is internationally recognized for its work improving the lives of children, adolescents, and adults with neurological, rehabilitative, or developmental needs.

“At Kennedy Krieger, we strive to give our patients hope and moments of joy as they and their families cope with difficult medical journeys,” said Bradley L. Schlaggar, MD, PhD, the Institute’s President and CEO. “Enabling children with neurogenetic conditions to enjoy a beloved childhood experience, riding a bike, in a way that meets their individual needs, makes an enormous impact. On our patients’ behalf, we are truly grateful to ACMG and Revvity for this program.”

For more than 15 years, the ACMG Foundation’s Day of Caring has united the global genetics community with local partners like Kennedy Krieger to create lasting change for children and families. These partnerships ensure the Foundation’s mission remains global in vision but local in impact, touching lives in meaningful, tangible ways.

“For children with genetic conditions, an adaptive bicycle represents far more than recreation; it offers independence, confidence, and connection,” said Nancy J. Mendelsohn, MD, FACMG, President of the ACMG Foundation. “Through this impactful program, the ACMG Foundation advances its mission to support families and the field of genetics by transforming compassion into action - one child, one bike, and one smile at a time.”
