New research confirms plastic production is directly linked to plastic pollution

A study published in Science Advances finds that every 1% increase in plastic production is associated with a 1% increase in plastic pollution. The top 56 companies responsible for more than half of global branded plastic pollution include The Coca-Cola Company, PepsiCo, and Nestlé.
