New study finds genetic testing identifies clinically relevant findings in 1 in 16 patients with schizophrenia
A new study found that modern genetic testing can identify clinically significant genetic explanations for schizophrenia in about 6% of patients, or roughly 1 in 16 individuals. Early age of onset and co-occurring neurodevelopmental disorders are associated with a higher likelihood of finding a genetic explanation.
