Altermagnet acts as a source of spin current for the first time

A team led by Helena Reichlová demonstrates the first spin current extraction from an altermagnet, a material with zero net magnetization, into a non-magnetic material. The achievement opens up new possibilities for smaller and more robust spintronic devices.
