Chinese scientists unravel weapons of defense against 'cotton cancer'

Researchers discovered that trans-kingdom small RNAs can protect crops from fungal pathogens, including the causal agent of 'Cotton Cancer'. The study found that specific sRNAs can be expressed in cotton cultivars to confer resistance to Verticillium wilt disease.
