Caroline Sutter, DNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, is a Professor in the School of Nursing, College of Public Health at George Mason University and Co-Director of the Center for Health Workforce. She is joined by Michael Beasley, Senior Program Manager with the Center for Health Workforce at George Mason. The Center supports initiatives that advance Virginia’s health workforce through strategic partnerships, workforce data, program development, and innovative solutions to address current and future healthcare workforce needs.
Through a partnership with the Virginia’s Identify, Screen, and Refer (VISR) program they will provide implementation support for VISR’s community agency training, helping organizations strengthen suicide prevention efforts through evidence-based training, suicide risk screening, referral processes, and connections to behavioral health and support services for veterans. The researchers received $34,785 for this effort, with funding beginning in June 2026 and continuing through late June 2027.
