Rockville, MD (November 21, 2025) – The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) and ASN Foundation (ASNF) are proud to announce the launch of new ASN Student Member Scholarships, a transformative initiative providing complimentary ASN memberships to every graduate student enrolled in Academic Nutrition Departments and Programs (ANDP) member institutions beginning January 2026. ANDP, a community within ASN, is comprised of directors of undergraduate and graduate nutrition departments and programs across the United States who work collectively to advance nutrition education, share best practices, influence policy, and strengthen student recruitment. This scholarship program directly supports that mission.
As the leading professional society for nutrition science, ASN is committed to fostering innovation, advancing education, and building a strong, diverse field of future leaders. Offering complimentary graduate student membership, a $40 annual savings per student, ensures broad access to essential academic, research, and professional resources. All undergraduate students already receive free membership within ASN.
“Graduate school is a pivotal moment in a scientist’s career,” said ASN President Dr. Naïma Moustaïd-Moussa. “By providing complimentary membership to all graduate students within ANDP institutions, we are opening the door to a community that supports, mentors, and empowers them. This initiative reflects ASN’s commitment to building a strong and diverse pipeline of future leaders who will advance nutrition science.”
With an ASN student membership, graduate students receive:
“By removing a key financial barrier, ASN is empowering graduate students with access to vital networking, webinars, leadership pathways, and platforms like ASN Connect and the new ASN Table mentorship program,” shared Maria Cinzori, Chair of ASN’s Student Interest Group (SIG). “This will have a lasting impact on early-career development across the field.”
Over 70 U.S. based institutions are members of ANDP. To become a member of ANDP and participate in the ASN Student Member Scholarships, visit nutrition.org/ANDP or contact andp@nutrition.org .
