NEW YORK, NY (April 22, 2026)--The Columbia University Fertility Center was ranked #1 on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Fertility Clinics for 2026 , the second consecutive year it has earned this distinction and the fourth year it has been included in the list.

The rankings are determined through a nationwide survey of reproductive medicine professionals, performance criteria and success rates, clinic accreditations and certifications, and patient satisfaction.

The list includes 140 fertility clinics from across the United States.

“We are grateful for this honor, which reflects the dedication of our entire team and the work we do every day to deliver the highest-quality personalized care and advance the boundaries of innovation for those for whom parenthood was once thought impossible,” says Zev Williams, MD, PhD, director of the center and Wendy D. Haven Associate Professor of Women’s Health at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

For over 40 years, Columbia University Fertility Center has been at the forefront of patient care and the development of new methods to help patients achieve their fertility goals. Technologies invented at the fertility center include HELIOS , a novel near-infrared light technology being tested as a way to enhance embryo development and STAR , an AI-assisted method for finding and retrieving sperm in men with azoospermia (absence of sperm). The center also developed a technique to accurately measure hormone levels with a touch-activated, painless blood-collection device that can be used at home.

“Finding a fertility center that engages in research can make a meaningful difference for patients undergoing IVF, including access to cutting-edge innovations and clinical trials,” says Dr. Williams. “Our goal is to expand what’s possible in reproductive medicine while ensuring every patient receives deeply personalized, compassionate care.”
