Based on an annual survey of 12,672 adolescents aged 10-15 years that was conducted for 8 years and included questions on different domains of life satisfaction and hours spent interacting with friends on social media, researchers found that the relationship between social media and domains of life satisfaction was reciprocal but nuianced; additionally, the relationship was statistically significant for a greater number of domains for girls, compared with boys, according to the study.
