T. Mills Kelly, History and Art History Director, Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media (RRCHNM); Lincoln Mullen, Associate Professor, History and Art History; and Jessica Otis, Assistant Professor of History and the Director of Public Projects at RRCHNM, received two funding awards from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

The researchers received one award (223980) in the amount of $800,000, which they will use for a project called "Building a Community of Supporters Through New Media and Audience Engagement." With this funding, they intend to launch a two-pronged shift in their current business model—the creation of a podcasting and video production studio and a substantial upgrade to their social media marketing and fundraising efforts.

They also received a second award (223981) in the amount of $200,000 that will function as an operating reserve for the Center.

Funding for these awards began in October 2021 and will end in late September 2025.
