1. American College of Physicians releases Best Practice Advice for the proper time, test, and interval for cervical cancer screening

ACP's advice is supported by ACOG and endorsed by ASCP

New clinical advice from the American College of Physicians (ACP) aims to reduce overuse of cervical cancer screening in average risk women without symptoms. "Cervical Cancer Screening in Average Risk Women" is published in Annals of Internal Medicine and lists two concurring organizations: the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. ACP's advice covers when to start and stop screening average risk women without symptoms, which screening tests to use, and at what screening interval. All articles were published within the last year in some of the world's most prestigious medical journals. Authors in each topic area chose articles based on novelty and quality of the research, as well as potential impact on clinical practice. Publication of the updates coincides with Internal Medicine 2015, (#IM2015) the annual scientific meeting of the American College of Physicians, taking place April 30-May 2 in Boston, Mass.
