On Tuesday 25 February, a task force of more than 70 leaders from science, industry, academia, and philanthropy – chaired by AAAS CEO Sudip Parikh – unveiled the Vision for American Science and Technology (VAST), a bold, strategic vision to strengthen the U.S. science and technology enterprise and ensure the U.S. remains globally competitive. VAST identifies key avenues to reduce barriers that hinder progress, build and empower a stronger and more adaptable workforce, and advance our global competitiveness while addressing societal challenges with commitments to fundamental discovery research.
