Reading 30 years of Otsego Lake history, one zooplankton at a time
Researchers analyzed 30 years of zooplankton data to identify changes in the lake's ecosystem driven by climate change and invasive species. The study found a shift in dominant copepod groups, with greater abundance and diversity in cyclopoid species in 2012 compared to 2026, which was dominated by calanoid copepods.
