Estrogen receptor-{alpha} antisense decreases brain estrogen receptor levels and affects ventilation in male and female rats

The study found that estrogen receptors are more widely expressed in the brain during fetal and neonatal periods, influencing brain development. Antisense oligodeoxynucleotide treatment decreased brain estrogen receptor levels, leading to changes in ventilation and body growth in male and female rats.
