Winners of IOF Young Investigators Awards announced in Taipei

Today, researchers from Australia, Hong Kong/China, Malaysia, and Singapore received the International Osteoporosis Foundation's (IOF) Young Investigators Awards, presented at the IOF Regionals - 5th Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Meeting in Taipei.

The award winning studies, submitted by investigators aged forty years or younger, were selected from more than 150 abstract submissions to the Meeting. The Award comprises 1000 USD, a certificate, and the opportunity to present the research at a high profile oral communications session.

IOF CEO Judy Stenmark, stated, "We're very pleased to recognize the noteworthy research of young investigators by offering these prestigious awards. IOF hopes this recognition will encourage these young investigators - the field's scientific leaders of the future - to continue their important work in advancing knowledge of bone, muscle and joint disorders."

The five award winning abstracts and presenting authors are:

IOF Regionals 5th Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Meeting

Organized by IOF in cooperation with local national and regional societies, the 5th Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Meeting is being held in Taipei from November 14-16, 2014. The IOF Regionals have been a key educational and research forum in the Asia-Pacific region since 2010. Past Meetings have been held in Hong Kong CN, Kuala Lumpur, Australia, and Singapore. The 6th IOF Regionals Asia-Pacific Meeting is planned in Singapore, November 2016.
