ENCECO Youth Talent Program: Supporting emerging leaders in environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology

To support the continued development of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology (ENCECO), the journal is launching its Youth Talent Program . The initiative aims to bring together outstanding early career researchers in environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology, foster collaboration and knowledge exchange with leading international experts, and cultivate the next generation of editorial talent to help shape the journal's future.

Eligibility

(1) Doctoral degree.
(2) Good academic ethics, strong communication skills, and an international academic perspective.
(3) Long‑term research focus in environmental chemistry and/or ecotoxicology, or closely related interdisciplinary fields.
(4) Track record of first authorship or corresponding authorship in high‑level journals in the field, or leadership in significant research projects.

(1) One‑year Young Scholar Support Plan:

(2) Journal Expert Training Program – a structured pathway to develop editorial and reviewing expertise.

(3) For those with outstanding performance and significant contributions, an honorary certificate and corresponding rewards will be issued, including a 100% APC discount voucher for ENCECO or other journals in the journal cluster (valid for two years).

(4) Those who make exceptionally notable contributions to the journal’s development and growth will be given priority recommendation for appointment to the Editorial Board of ENCECO or other journals in the cluster.

【Obligations】

(1) Topic planning: Monitor academic trends and real‑world issues, provide suggestions for special topic planning, and identify frontier and hot‑topic areas.

(2) Journal promotion: Actively promote the journal through academic social networks, personal platforms, and academic events to attract high‑quality submissions and broaden readership.

(3) Participation in academic activities: Assist or participate in online/offline academic conferences, roundtable forums, author workshops, and other events organized by the journal.

(4) Advice and feedback: Provide constructive suggestions for journal improvement.

Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology (ENCECO) publishes studies on environmental chemistry (distribution, dynamics and fate) of pollutants, together with biologic and toxic effects of man-made chemical pollutants on ecotoxicological animal models and plants.

ENCECO comprises these sections:

The journal is indexed in ESCI, Scopus, Ei Compendex, BIOSIS Previews, Biological Abstracts, CAS, DOAJ, GEOBASE etc. According to the 2025 CAS Journal Ranking Tables (Chinese Academy of Sciences), ENCECO ranks TOP in both categories of Environmental Sciences & Ecology and the sub‑categories of Environmental Sciences and Toxicology. The 2025 World Journal Clout Index (WJCI) Report (issued by the China Association for Science and Technology) also lists ENCECO as a TOP journal. With an IF 2025 of 12.3, the journal has consistently ranked in the Top 10% of JCR’s Environmental Sciences category and the Top 5 of Toxicology for three consecutive years.
