The Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI) and leading international publisher Taylor & Francis have announced a new journal designed to bring together researchers at all career stages, foster collaboration across scientific disciplines, and make translational research available to the policymakers addressing today’s global challenges.

All articles published in the Journal of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences will be open access (OA), ensuring that the latest research findings are freely accessible to readers worldwide.

With rigorous peer review and an Editorial Board spanning broad geographical and disciplinary experience, the journal will be an authoritative source of original research across science, technology, mathematics, and social sciences. Its multidisciplinary approach aims to break down siloed specialisms and encourage the sharing of information and diverse perspectives.

The journal has also been developed to bridge the gap between academic research and public policy implementation. In addition to research and review articles, the journal will feature opinion pieces, commentaries, and a policy forum, making it an invaluable evidence-based resource for policymakers and practitioners.

The journal is now open for high-quality papers to be submitted to the following multidisciplinary sections:

Daniel Murdiyarso, President of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences, said: “AIPI commits to bringing interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary science-based evidence to support open and honest dialogues among stakeholders at all levels.”

The Journal of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences will showcase world-class research from both Indonesian and international institutions and is committed to supporting early-career researchers to share their work with a global readership. “It is very timely to promote home-grown science with unique cases, not only in quantity and breadth, but even more in quality and novelty,” Murdiyarso added.

Katie Peace, Vice President of Academic Partnerships at Taylor & Francis said: “We are delighted to partner with the Indonesian Academy of Sciences on this important initiative. The Journal of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences embodies our shared commitment to publishing quality research that is open, collaborative and impactful. We look forward to seeing the journal thrive and shining more of a spotlight on world-class research from Indonesian scholars and beyond.”
