A study finds that the current suite of global climate models can adequately simulate the spectrum of temperature variability at timescales ranging from years to multiple millennia, suggesting that with accurate initial and boundary conditions, particularly in the deep ocean, the models contain the necessary components to forecast temperature variations at such timescales.
