Glenview, IL – The American College of Chest Physicians ® (CHEST) is proud to announce that CHEST ® Critical Care , its open-access journal dedicated to critical care medicine, has received its first-ever Journal Impact Factor of 2.7, marking a significant milestone in the journal's continued growth and influence.

The Journal Impact Factor, released annually by Clarivate in the Journal Citation Reports, measures the average number of citations that articles published in a journal receive and serves as a widely recognized indicator of scholarly influence.

"Receiving our first Impact Factor is an exciting milestone that reflects the dedication of our authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and readers," said Hayley Gershengorn, MD, FCCP, Editor in Chief of CHEST Critical Care . "Our journal was founded to accelerate the dissemination of high-quality critical care research and make it accessible to clinicians, researchers, and policymakers around the world. This recognition highlights CHEST Critical Care’s growing impact and the value it provides to the critical care community."

CHEST Critical Care provides a fully open-access platform for publishing research, reviews, case reports, How I Do It articles, and more educational content spanning the breadth of critical care medicine to advance knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
