CLEVELAND -- University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is one of the most recognizable hospitals among doctors in the U.S. and around the world, according to an annual survey.
UH Cleveland Medical Center was ranked seventh in the U.S. and 15 th globally in a survey of the strongest academic medical center (AMC) brands, according to Brand Finance, a London-based brand valuation consultancy.
“This ranking is a reflection of everything we do at University Hospitals to provide compassionate care for patients, find the next generation of treatments, invest in our facilities and listen to our caregivers,” said UH CEO Cliff A. The study surveyed more than 2,500 health care professionals and evaluated 24 metrics for AMCs across 30 countries. Topics covered included patient treatment, medical research, training and education.
Building a strong brand is essential to attracting outstanding doctors, student applicants, prominent research staff, garnering support from donors, and building a network of partners, said Brand Finance CEO David Haigh.
“Among the world’s top AMCs, the stakeholder audience expands beyond the local area as influence reaches around the world – although many patients may still be local, the research and procedures developed will be relevant globally, and top medical staff will travel and study to bring the reputation and brand to wider audiences,” Haigh said.
UH Cleveland Medical Center is affiliated with the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Northeast Ohio Medical University, the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, the National Taiwan University College of Medicine and the University of Oxford – whose medical center was recognized as second overall in the Brand Finance survey.
