Dual-Energy SPECT May Enable Faster Monitoring of 177 Lu-PSMA Therapy
A study evaluated whether dual-energy 360° CZT total-body SPECT/CT could shorten imaging time after 177 Lu-PSMA therapy. In 20 patients with prostate cancer, researchers compared 9-minute and 18-minute dual-energy scans with an 18-minute single-energy protocol, assessing tumor volume and SUVmean against PSMA PET.
PSMA PET-Based Model Helps Predict Outcomes After 177 Lu-PSMA Therapy
Researchers evaluated a previously developed prognostic model in 174 patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer who underwent 18 F-flotufolastat PET before 177 Lu-PSMA I&T therapy. The model was assessed for its ability to predict overall survival, PSA progression-free survival, and PSA response, with patients stratified into low- and high-risk groups.
Timing Between PSMA PET and Therapy May Affect Assessment of Prostate Cancer
A study of 87 patients with treatment-resistant prostate cancer examined whether disease progression occurred between baseline PSMA PET and the start of 177 Lu-PSMA-617 therapy. Interim progression was observed in more than one-third of patients and was associated with a longer interval between baseline imaging and treatment initiation.
